Norfolk Constabulary: Licensed premises take a united stand

Three retailers have joined a successful scheme in Downham
Market to reduce drink-related crime and anti-social behaviour.

Licensees in Downham Market, Shouldham Thorpe, Runcton Holme,
Stow Bridge, Hilgay and Tottenhill are taking a united stand to
prevent persistent trouble makers from entering their premises.

pubs are already part of the local Pubwatch scheme. Pubwatch

Downham Market PC Richard Bodley said: Over 20 local businesses
are working closely together to ensure that people can come to
the area and enjoy a safe and pleasant environment. Those
individuals, who have been banned, will not be
allowed to buy alcohol from three retail premises in the town
as well as being barred from the local pubs.

Tesco, Morrisons and Martins Newsagent have recently joined the
Pubwatch scheme in Downham Market.

Individuals who have been banned
can still purchase other items from the stores but not alcohol.
