Norfolk Constabulary: Free CAT marking in North Walsham

10 April 2013

Police in North Walsham have teamed up with two garages to offer
motorists free catalytic converter marking.

Drivers of 4x4s and vans are being urged to step-up security
following an increase in thefts across the county.

Norfolk Constabulary is working in partnership with Trunch
Garage and Griffin Auto in a bid to reduce thefts by marking
vehicles for free, making it more difficult for offenders to
dispose of them at scrap metal sites.

Local beat manager PC Paul Gwyn said: Catalytic converters are
prime targets for thieves because they contain premium metals,
platinum and rhodium.

Marking converters will make it more
difficult for criminals to dispose of.

Drivers can attend the following garages to get their vehicles

  • Griffin Autos, 30 Mundesley Road, North Walsham, 01692
  • Trunch Garage, Chapel Road, Trunch, 01263 721364
