Burglaries in Acle | Upton with Fishley Parish Council

Warning to residents after burglaries Acle Residents living in the Acle area are being urged to be vigilant and review home security following a series of burglaries. Four homes were targeted by thieves over the weekend with incidents reported in Springfield, Pyebush Lane and De Carle Smith Road. Officers are urging homeowners to vigilant, report any incidents of suspicious activity and take measures to help protect homes including using automatic timers on lights or leaving the radio on to give a would-be thief the impression someone is at home.

The recent burglaries happened on Saturday 9 November and officers are continuing to investigate them: In Springfield, between 5.50pm and 8.40pm, suspect(s) used a paving slab from the garden to smash a kitchen window. Cash, jewellery and an air riffle were stolen following an untidy search. Between 3pm and 9.30pm about 300 was stolen from a property in Pyebush Lane after thieves smashed a window before reaching in to open the door.

A second address in Springfield was targeted between 5.05pm and 9.30pm when suspect(s) again smashed a kitchen window using flint from the garden. Wallets, an iPod and jewellery were stolen. In De Carle Smith Road offender(s) used a tool from the shed to smash a rear window of a bungalow sometime between 6pm and 7pm.

The property was searched with a quantity of cash stolen.
