Frozen meat, fishing rods, an industrial vacuum cleaner and a tape measure were some of the unusual items stolen overnight by burglars in a raid on a business park near Shrewsbury.
More than 2,000 worth of items has been taken from units at Dorrington Business Park. Thieves broke into three units at Dorrington Business Park, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage. Doors were forced or smashed between 5pm on Sunday and 6am today.
Police believe a trolley from one of the premises was used to carry the stolen property outside and then loaded over a fence to a waiting vehicle. They have issued an appeal for witnesses and want to hear from anyone who spotted suspicious activity at or near the small business park situated alongside the busy A49 in the middle of the village. The first burglary discovered was at Bliss Bespoke Kitchens where fishing tackle including two rods, two Dewalt screwdrivers and a Bosch tape measure were among items stolen.
Meat worth 900 was stolen from a large freezer at the Lakeside Meats unit including boxes of brisket and chicken fillets, turkey crowns, rumps, rib-eye and fillets of beef. A dark blue industrial vacuum cleaner, electric clippers and some cash were stolen from the neighbouring Canine Hydro Therapy premises. Richard Ewels, a West Mercia Police spokesman, said: “It s likely the offenders were on site for some time during late evening or the early hours.
