No further action over Gorleston death

7 November 2013

Three people arrested in connection with the death of Malcolm
Pratt will have no further action taken against them.

Fifty-one-year-old Mr Pratt, known as Hank, was found collapsed
in his home on Exeter Road in Gorleston on Monday 15 July 2013 and
died on Friday 26 July in Addenbrooke s Hospital.

Two men from Great Yarmouth, aged 30 and 33, and a 31-year-old
woman, also from Yarmouth, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy
to murder.

Following a four month investigation, during which the Major
Investigation Team reviewed pathology reports and consulted the
Crown Prosecution Service, the evidence was not sufficient to take
the inquiry forward.

Police have therefore decided that no further action will be
taken against these three people.

All have been notified that their bail has been cancelled. Mr
Pratt s family has also been informed.

The death is no longer being treated as murder. Police are not
looking for anyone else in connection with Mr Pratt s death and
there are no outstanding lines of inquiry.

A file is being prepared
for the coroner for inquest.
