Schools in Potters Bar that collected tens of thousands of supermarket vouchers from parents have been given free sports equipment.

Ladbrooke Primary, Cranborne Primary, The Wroxham, and Oakmere Primary were all among schools that took part in Sainsbury s Active Kids scheme.

Parents received vouchers when they spent money at the supermarket, with their childrens school receiving kit and equipment depending on how many were collected.

The Wroxham School topped the collection table in Potters Bar with a whopping 18,588 vouchers.

The school has already exchanged the vouchers for medals, footballs and a catching net.

Staff from the Potters Bar store visited children at The Wroxham on Friday to give them extra bottles of water and chocolate for their PE lessons, as well as congratulating them on the amount of vouchers they collected.
