New King's Lynn Festival Chorus members join in a jazzed-up …
King s Lynn Festival Chorus has welcomed several new members following the publicity it received in the Lynn News and while meeting members of the public during the December Carol-a thon.
Chairman Oliver Henrie said: Everyone at KLFC has been thrilled to see new members joining the choir and long may it last. Currently rehearsing hard for the concert at the Corn Exchange on March 30, choir members are being introduced to singing jazz and learning to be rather more relaxed than when singing the traditional classical compositions. Music director Tom Appleton starts rehearsals with a warm-up and this certainly does not consist of singing scales or boring exercises.
Tom has members making the most weird of shapes with their faces and creating sounds that everyone did not know existed. Recently Tom visited Buckingham Palace as part of the Monteverdi Choir when Prince Charles hosted a dinner to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the choir s founding. Hearing whether he is singing in New York, Salzburg or London makes the choir feel part of the hectic schedule of their gifted music director and enhances what is always a fun and enjoyable evening.
