Prince George in Official Royal Family Portrait March 2014

Kate Middleton and Prince William released a family portrait 1 on Saturday, and it’s beyond sweet. The official image shows 8-month-old Prince George in Kate’s arms as he locks eyes with their dog, Lupo. Meanwhile, Kate and William beam as they casually nestle near a windowsill in their Kensington Palace apartment.

If you look closely, you’ll see “George” written on the little prince’s baby blue sweater. The image, taken by photographer Jason Bell in mid-March, marks the first time the family has released an official portrait since George’s christening 2 last October. For that milestone, Jason took five official portraits 3 .

Prince George and Lupo are clearly building a sweet bond as the young royal grows. The cocker spaniel was included in the family’s first official photo 4 , taken by Kate’s father, Michael Middleton. When that sweet snap was taken, Lupo looked away with his tongue hanging out, as George rested in his mom’s arms with his eyes closed.

The excitement over growing George’s latest moment with his parents started when CNN’s Max Foster tweeted the image on Saturday, mere hours after Kate and William joined Prince Harry at a wedding 5 . The photogenic family members are destined to grab even more headlines when they tour Australia and New Zealand for three weeks in April 6 . It will be George’s first official trip abroad!

After you’re done smiling at the new royal photo, get caught up on all the highlights from George’s first year 7 !

Norfolk Constabulary: Fakenham 'bush' burglar pleads guilty

27 March 2014 A burglar found by police hiding in bushes has appeared at court to plead guilty. Gheorghita Dinu, 20, of no fixed abode, was one of two men pursued by police after local residents reported a burglary in progress at a property in Wells Road, Fakenham, on the evening of Saturday 8 March. The suspects made off across farmland and, with the help of the police helicopter, Dinu was located hiding in nearby bushes a short while later.

He was arrested by police officers on the ground and subsequently charged. Appearing at Norwich Crown Court on Wednesday 26 March, Dinu admitted an offence of burglary and was remanded in custody for sentencing on a date to be fixed. Praising the quick-thinking actions of members of the public, Inspector Teresa Futter said: “Thanks to nearby residents calling 999 and offering really good descriptions of the suspects, police were able to quickly dispatch units, including the police helicopter, to the scene. “This is a great example of communities and police working together to reduce crime and keep people safe.

Enquires to locate the second male suspected remain on-going.

Anyone with information about the second suspect is asked to contact DC Gail Morley at King s Lynn CID on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 .
