Fantastic weekend for King's Lynn's Festival Too

Lynn town centre was rocking over the weekend as thousands of people crowded in to listen to top name bands.

A total of 25,000 people went along to Tuesday Market Place to enjoy the final weekend of Festival Too. Toploader and Scouting for Girls were the headline acts for Friday and Saturday s concerts. Derek Harvey is signing off as chairman of Festival Too with a fantastic weekend.

Mr Harvey said: I think the last two festivals are the best we have for many years. A lot of people will agree with that. This year s musical line-up was best ever.

Friday s concert attracted 10,000 people who enjoyed an energetic set from X-Factor finalists Rough Copy. The bill also included the return of The Hoosiers, who had performed at the 2011 festival. Headliners Toploader ended the night with their big hit, Dancing in the Moonlight.

Youngsters from King s Lynn Academy got Saturday night off on the right note. Folk sets were performed by Addison s Uncle and Gayton Group Jake Morrell. Under the Influence and Luciee Marie Closier, who appeared on BBC 1 s The Voice, warmed up the crowd for the headliners, Scouting for Girls.

The group pumped out their hits She s So Lovely, Heartbeat and Elvis Ain t Dead. Mr Harvey said: The festival has gone from strength to strength. It gets better each year, which makes it a challenge.

I would like to thank the committee for all their hard work and to everyone who came along to make it a festival to be proud of.
