As part of Colmans Mustard Shop & Museum s celebrations of 200 years of Colman s in Norwich, author Nick Williams guides a walking tour of Norwich s fascinating industrial heritage on Thursday 21st August 2014 at 3pm.

The tour unveils the surprising industrial history of the city, as featured in Nick s best-selling book Norwich: City of Industries, with an emphasis on Colman s influential role in Norwich and its legacy. The walking tour will finish at Colmans Mustard Shop & Museum, owned by Norwich s Heritage Economic and Regeneration Trust (HEART), with a talk from Retail Business Manager Nick Cook on the history of the firm.

Nick Williams, author of Norwich: City of Industries, said: I feel that the city s industrial heritage is something that is often overlooked, and my book, and now this special walking tour of the city, hopefully goes some way to addressing that.

Future 200 years of Colman s in Norwich events from Colman s Mustard Shop & Museum include a special exhibition on the history of Colman s in the Forum (12-22 November) in conjunction with the Unilever Archives, The History of Advertising Trust and the East Anglian Film Archive; launch of a new limited edition whisky in partnership with the English Whisky Company, and even a Mustard Murder Mystery.

About Colmans Mustard Shop & Museum

Colman s Mustard Shop & Museum was opened in 1973 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Colman s, with premises on Bridewell Alley. It moved to the historic art nouveau Royal Arcade in 1999, where it has been based ever since in a careful replica of Victorian trade premises.

The shop stocks an extensive range of powder and prepared mustards, including a number of specialities made exclusively for the shop. In addition, there are a wide selection of mustard pots and spoons, together with tea towels not to mention a broad range of Colman s memorabilia.

It also contains many items on loan from the archives, covering all aspects of the history and production of Colman s mustard.
