The name proved the most popular among Facebook respondents when North Walsham Town Council asked for suggestions.

There was widespread public anger in November when two mature hornbeams at the entrance to the site, the former HL Foods canning factory, were chopped down by developers Hopkins Homes for highway safety and highway visibility reasons. The firm has pledged to plant five replacements. Other road names for the estate approved by North Norfolk District Council are Kemp Road, Windmill Loke, Smedley Close, Rayna Loke, Durrell Way and Fenn Close.

Each commemorates either a person connected with the site and town, or are related to the site s history.
