Police: Arrested Woman Broke Into SUV During Church Services …

HINGHAM (CBS) A 55-year-old Weymouth woman is accused of breaking into an SUV at a church parking lot during morning services, and a string of similar incidents are under investigation.

Hingham police said Dawn Marie Coughlin was found Sunday morning leaning into an SUV with its passenger door open outside the South Shore Baptist Church on Maine Street. Purses had been reported stolen from unlocked cars during morning services on the previous two Sundays, and witnesses said they saw a woman wearing one glove pulling on car door handles.

When approached by an officer, Coughlin reportedly refused to give her name or birth date and said I snuck out of Mass and don t carry my ID on me. She said the car belonged to her aunt.

The owners of the vehicle then came out of church and confirmed they did not know Coughlin.

Police found three white gloves in Coughlin s pants pocket.

She s charged with breaking and entering to a vehicle.
