Hingham: Police Investigating Curtain Rod, Coin Theft

Hingham Police are looking for help investigating a house break on East Street on Saturday (August 3) in which the thief took some unusual items.

It s the second house break in that area in the past week. Police say the house next door was broken into on Monday, July 27 both houses are near the #100 block between the Hingham Public Library and Chamberlain Run.

Saturday s house break was discovered by the homeowner; a ground floor bedroom window screen had been cut and the window forced open.

The curtain and curtain rod were missing.

The only other missing items reported are coins; jewelry that was in plain sight in the same room was untouched.

Police say it s not clear why the suspect left without taking anything else.
