Police looking for third suspect in Kingston Avenue homicide …
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) Norfolk Police have arrested two people in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred over the weekend.
Police confirmed Robert Reynold Knight III was shot and killed on the 1700 block of Kingston Avenue on Saturday afternoon.
I was at my computer and I thought somebody was knocking at the door, Apollo Desantos said of the sounds he heard Saturday afternoon.
Police said someone shot the 37-year-old driver of a white van on Kingston Avenue in front of an apartment complex.
At the scene, it appeared the van crashed into a short brick wall.
Knight was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police were looking for a blue or grey small vehicle with front end damage.
Monday afternoon, police announced they located two men with that car and arrested them in connection with Knight s death: Elisha Hernandez, 22, of Newport News and Mondozer Masters, 35, of Hampton. Both men have been charged with second degree murder, attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit a robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. They are in the Norfolk City Jail held with no bond.
The guys they caught, hopefully, that s really them because that way everyone out here feels a little safer and it s actual justice, Curtis Rondarel, a neighbor said.
However, the arrests are not enough to convince Rondarel and his family to stay in the home that is yards from where Knight was killed.
We re gonna move, we are gonna actually dig deep and try to find an actual good neighborhood, he said.
At least in the middle of nowhere or something.
Police are now looking for Tredell Cook, the third suspect in this murder.
