The Royal Family Doesn't Fuck Around with Its Dress Code for …
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are making their way to the US in T-minus 14 days, so heads up American journos: if you are one of the lucky members of the press who has by some miracle gained access to witness a member of the Royal Family in person, you damn well better dress the part, or so help them God, you are not stepping foot anywhere near them.
Journalists wishing to cover Royal engagements, whether in the United Kingdom or abroad, should comply with the dress code on formal occasions out of respect for the guests of The Queen, or any other member of the Royal Family.
Smart attire for men includes the wearing of a jacket and tie, and for women a trouser or skirt suit. Those wearing jeans or trainers will not be admitted and casually dressed members of the media will be turned away.
This also applies to technicians.
Or maybe, the Royals really just need to get up to speed with the normcore movement personally, every time I see an image of the Queen, I think to myself, ‘Hmm, could use more Adidas.”
Anyway, members of the American press: don’t fuck this up for the rest of us (says the lady who bought two extra sets of “home clothes” from Target so I could feel more comfortable working from home.)
