Traffic flagger dies from injuries at Vermont work site

A 77-year-old Greensboro Bend man died Monday from injuries he suffered when he was struck by a tree, Thetford police said.

Ferland was working as a traffic control flagger on Feb.

16 when he was hit by a tree that was being removed from a roadside.

He was an employee of New England Tree Experts of Hardwick.

Ferland was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he died.

The New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death was blunt impact to the head.

Thetford police and the Vermont Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
