If there s one company that strives to offer the best security possible when it comes to digital data, it s Apple1. And the FBI s case against the iPhone2 maker is clear proof of that: The agency claims it can t get into an iPhone that belonged to one of the shooters in the San Bernardino massacre because Apple s security is protecting it.
Despite this, President Obama recently ignored Apple completely while talking about online security and the role certain tech companies will play.
With the help of companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and Visa we re going to empower Americans to be able to help themselves and make sure that they are safe online with an extra layer of security, like a fingerprint or a code sent to your cellphone, Obama said4.
These features already exist in plenty of modern devices, including Apple s iPhones. In fact, Apple was one of the first companies to implement fingerprint sensors in smartphones.
The President did not explain exactly how these companies will improve the online safety of Americans, aside from fingerprint sensors and two-factor authentication, but he implied his administration would not use Apple s security expertise to help users protect their online security.
More and more, keeping America safe is not just a matter of more tanks, more aircraft carriers; not just a matter of bolstering our security on the ground, Obama said.
It also requires us to bolster our security online. As we ve seen in the past few years and just in the past few days, cyber threats pose a danger not only to our national security but also our financial security and the privacy of millions of Americans.
Obama didn t mention the FBI or the San Bernardino case in his speech either. The President did talk about his new initiatives concerning online security, including Cybersecurity National Action Plan, or CNAP.
Obama also said that the budget for cyber security has been supplemented by more than one-third, to more than $19 billion.
The administration will also create the first-ever Federal Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and update old infrastructure to better face modern online threats.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that comedian Katt Williams was arrested after police officers found marijuana and firearms in his residence. It’s said that these items were discovered when the authorities were serving the Wild ‘N Out star with a search warrant.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia, the warrant was issued as a part of an investigation after one of Mr. Williams’ bodyguards claimed that the funnyman had him assaulted with a baseball bat and choked out.
The employee claims the aggression was brought on when he refused to “engage in criminal activity” on the 42-year-old’s behalf. Oh man!
While the security detail expert said Katt issued death threats, he did also note that the attack was carried out by others in the group. That’s just awful!
During the raid, the cops found “large quantities” of weed as well as several firearms.
Well that’ll get you into some trouble!
Since the raid, Katt’s been reportedly booked for aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and false imprisonment. Although, the police have relayed that they WILL be slapping on additional drug and weapons charges.
What’s crazzzy is that this recent run in with the law is fourth legal hiccup for the celeb within a couple weeks. Most recently, Katt’s been accused of holding five women at gun point3, attacking a pool store clerk4, and getting into a scuffle in El Lay!
Someone’s going to have to deal with some major attorney fees.

Disturbing new footage has emerged of the fatal encounter between Oregon Standoff protester Lavoy Finicum and law enforcement officers.
The newly released footage shows two camera angles synced together. One is the video released by the FBI and the other is cell phone footage taken by passengers in the car.
This is the complete video as posted by the Bundys, the fateful final moments start at 5:15 into the video with what appears to be shots fired by law enforcement officers into the vehicle as it approached a roadblock.
According to local media reports:
An FBI agent is suspected of lying about firing twice at Robert LaVoy Finicum and may have gotten help from four other FBI agents in covering up afterward, authorities revealed Tuesday.
The bullets didn t hit Finicum and didn t contribute to his death, but now all five unnamed agents, part of an elite national unit, are under criminal investigation by the U.S. Justice Department.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz is leading the independent inquiry.
The remarkable disclosure came as a team of local investigators released findings that two state troopers shot Finicum three times in the back during the chaotic scene at a police roadblock Jan.
26. One bullet pierced his heart, an autopsy showed.
A prosecutor ruled the fatal shooting was legally justified, saying state law allows use of deadly force when officers believe a person is about to seriously injure or kill someone. Finicum kept moving his hands toward a pocket that contained a loaded handgun.
Although he was shot
from behind, Finicum had a trooper in front of him armed with a Taser who was thought to be in danger.
A post to the Bundy Ranch Facebook page reads:
