Norfolk Constabulary: Appeal after injured man found in Thetford

16 April 2014 Police are continuing to investigate after a man was assaulted in Thetford on Monday night. Officers carried out searches of the riverbank yesterday in a bid to establish where the incident took place, however nothing has been found which can assist the investigation. Police were called to an address in St Giles Lane at about 9.30pm by the ambulance service who were treating an injured man at the address.

The man, who is Russian and in his 20s, had previously been in the river and was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries. He remains in hospital. Enquiries are continuing and police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area near the river at the time to contact police.

Police were called to an area at the back of the Bell Hotel on King Street at around 9.30pm last night, Monday 14 April 2014, by the ambulance service who were treating an injured man there. The man, who is Russian and in his 20s, had previously been in the river and was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.

Officers are carrying out a search of the riverbank today to try to establish exactly where the incident took place and what happened.

Man charged with theft offences

27 September 2013 A 23-year-old man has appeared in court charged with theft and violent behaviour. Luke Punchard, of no fixed abode, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court this morning, Friday 27 September 2013, after being charged with two counts of theft from a vehicle, one count of theft from a person and one count of violent conduct at Aylsham Police Investigation Centre (PIC) on Wednesday 25 September 2013. The theft charges relate to three separate incidents this month in the Pointers Field, Denton Road and St Crispin s car park areas of Norwich.

Punchard was remanded in custody to next appear before Norwich Magistrates Court on Friday 25 October 2013.

CCTV appeal for harassment case

24 September 2013 Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to following the harassment of a female in King’s Lynn. Between July and August 2013 a female employee of a retail premise in King’s Lynn has been subjected to harassment from a male unknown to her. Officers want to speak to the man pictured as he may be able to assist with inquiries.
