CCTV image released after security guard robbed at Wavertree …

This CCTV image shows a man police want to speak to after a security guard was robbed at a Wavertree11 supermarket.

The security guard was robbed while delivering cash to the cash machine at Asda22 in Smithdown Road.

The guard was kicked in the legs and pushed to the ground by the robber who approached him from behind on Saturday, August 29 at around 10.10am. The robber made off with what police termed a large quantity of cash .

Detectives have now issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to talk to in connection with the robbery. Detective Constable Rob Walsh said: We are keen to speak to the man pictured as we believe he may have vital information that could help with our investigation.

I would urge him, or anyone or thinks they may know who this person is, to contact police.

The security guard was not injured, but did attend hospital to be checked over and was left very distressed by what happened police added.

The robber, not believed to be armed, fled on foot in the direction of Arundel Avenue.
