The 26-year-old said officers equipped with guns, shields and tasers raided her block of flats at Manor House Court on Vale Green this morning. She said she was woken at around 1am to sounds of banging and shouting outside her door.

“I woke my husband up and said something is wrong,” the woman said. “I then got up, opened my [front] door and there was a policeman with a gun. “They told me to go back inside and I would be safe.” The woman, whose daughter was asleep in bed, said she could hear police shouting to “keep your hands up” outside her flat.

She described seeing police wearing shields and helmets, a dog unit and one officer armed with a taser. The policeman outside her door was armed with a “bigger gun”, she said. “I was a little bit shaken because I was fast asleep when I heard all the banging,” the woman, who did not wish to be named, added.

“Then I opened my front door to find all that in front of me.” She said she did not see anyone get arrested, but added that a car was taken away. The woman said she saw around eight officers involved in the operation.
