Research Governance Facilitator

King s College London Research & Development Office, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust Location: London Salary: 27,328 to 31,656 per annum plus 2,323 per annum London Allowance. Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Contract / Temporary Summary We would like to invite applications for this post which is pivotal to the operation of the joint R&D Office of an NHS-university partnership that has a world-class reputation in research into the understanding and treatment of mental illness and brain disease. The post-holder will join a busy R&D team to support key research management processes required under the Health Research Authority, National Research Ethics Service (NRES) and Department of Health s Research Governance Framework.

A key function of the role will be to facilitate the set up and delivery of research within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, working with researchers and other research support departments to assess feasibility of studies and provide guidance on national systems and guidelines. The role will also involve close interaction with clinical services within the Trust. Details The successful candidate will have outstanding organisational and communication skills, with excellent computer literacy (in particular Excel, Access) and the ability to process complex information.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to communicate confidently with researchers at all levels. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is interested in working in an NHS R&D or university environment supporting UK health research. Experience in working in NHS R&D or a university research support role is strongly desirable, however there will be support and training provided to the post-holder to enable them to develop and grow into their role.
