Your opportunity to shape community healthcare in Norfolk

Members of the public are being invited to give their views on how to further improve community healthcare across Norfolk, in order to best serve the needs of patients. Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) is holding two Equality and Diversity events to hear feedback on anything which affects a person s access to community health care, their experience as a patient and the care they receive. To make sure everyone receives the same level of service, issues being discussed may include topics such as overcoming language barriers, issues around wheelchair access, or readability of signage for those who are visually impaired.

NCH&C is responsible for providing specialist care to around 1.5 million people across Norfolk and Suffolk, which includes community nursing, stroke and neurological rehabilitation, and palliative care. Lorna Taylor, NCH&C s HR Business Partner, said: We want to make sure that everyone receives the same level of service which also takes into account their own diverse needs. There are so many things we can do to make sure healthcare is inclusive like making sure people across our region are equally able to give their feedback; patients with dementia, learning difficulties, or those with dyslexia, for example.

Providing a fair, inclusive and personal service is at the heart of what we do, so we are always reviewing and planning our Equality and Diversity objectives to help us continue to achieve this.

I would encourage anyone who is interested in giving us their feedback to attend one of the sessions, to help shape what we do in the future.

The engagement events are planned as follows: Tuesday, November 24, 10.30am to 12.30pm, Mulberry Unit meeting room, Norwich Community Hospital, Bowthorpe Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 3TU Thursday, December 3, 13.30 15.30pm, Health Education Room, Swaffham Community Hospital, Sporle Road, Swaffham, Norfolk, PE37 7HL To book a place contact Lorna Taylor on 01603 693 645 or email [email protected] 1 References ^ [email protected] (
