Book swap news! | All Saints CEVA Primary School, Stibbard

Following last years success we shall be holding a book swap during lunchtime next Thursday. Children are invited to bring in a book which they have read and enjoyed themselves to swap with another child. Books need to be in good condition and be suitable for children of their own age.

We will not be able to swap baby board books or books for teenagers. The swap will take place at lunchtime in the year 2 classroom. Please bring books into your class on Thursday morning.

Perhaps this weekend could include a book sort out!!

Sheringham Park | All Saints CEVA Primary School, Stibbard

What a lovely day! We arrived at Sheringham Park in time for a snack and toilet break before meeting Rob our Sheringham Park leader. He lead us on a Stone Age forage through the woody areas of the park looking for food that hunter gatherers might have eaten.

He carefully identified edible roots, plants and berries. Next, children learned how our ancestors would have made fire. The children understood that fire needs three elements: heat, fuel and oxygen.

They gathered their fuel for the fire using dried grass, small sticks, newspapers and a little pad of cotton wool to kindle the spark. With a little practise each group lit a small fire using a flint and steel. Finally we finished with lunch and a run about before heading back to school.

A fun time was had by all.

Homeward bound | All Saints CEVA Primary School, Stibbard

We have had an amazing day in Cambridge which culminated in a choral communion service at King s College chapel which was really special. The children as always have been wonderful ambassadors for our school. We are now on our way home and aim to be back around 8:20pm.

Please keep the bus bay clear for the coach.

Thank you.

Year 6 Project: Church Brochure for Children

Year 6 started the process of producing a leaflet for All Saints Church, Stibbard that is suitable for children when they visit the church. Rev Sally met us there and gave the children an introductory talk about the church. They then started sketches and made notes about different aspects of the church.

After half term we will testing the leaflets out when the rest of the school visit the church during the week.
