Hingaghm: Family of Marine Killed in Helicopter Crash Return Home

Cpl. Christopher Orlando of Hingham South Shore residents are being invited to show their support for the family of US Marine Corps Corporal Christopher Orlando later today as the family returns from Hawaii. Odlando was one of twelve Marines who died in a helicopter accident.

The family is set to arrive at Logan Airport at 6:12 p.m. They will be escorted by the State Police from the airport back to Hingham. Hingham Police will join the escort as it arrives in Hingham.

The route will be off Exit 15, right on Derby St. straight onto Whiting St. Rte 53 S to Rte 228, left onto Main St.

As a sign of support, people are encouraged to stand along the route, holding flags. Those along the route should remain silent as a sign of respect. In addition, people should park and stand off the to the side of road, for their safety, as all roads will remain open to traffic.

Orlando and 11 other Marines were in two helicopters that crashed Jan.

14 off the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
